The Stoplight Golight concept was developed initially to help our young ones with bedtimes. Time is set, red light goes on and this signals for child to stay in bed. Once time is finished green lights up and it is time to get up and GO! Now, the concept has evolved into stop and FOCUS on task at hand. Time is set, red light illuminates and the child focuses on task at hand. Once time is up, green light comes on and it is time to move on to the next activity. Yellow light is for aesthetics only. Two reasons: 1. Wanted the child to focus on task at hand and not timer. If yellow light came on to signal the end of set time, the child would focus on timer not task. 2. Yellow light would take up too much battery power. We didn't want our customers to change batteries often - that can get expensive .
